How Change Happens My approach is rooted in the belief that greater awareness creates new possibilities for change. Often, what feels stuck, painful, or limiting today began as a necessary way to survive the difficult experiences in your past. Together, with curiosity and compassion, we will pay attention to these automatic patterns in how you relate to yourself, to others, and to the world. As we understand them, these patterns can loosen, allowing you to explore and experiment with new ways of living.
Framework I work from a humanistic and relational approach, meaning I view therapy as a collaborative dialogue where we are jointly interested in understanding your experience more fully. My core training is in Gestalt therapy, which integrates existential, relational and somatic approaches and focuses on how the past is showing up in the here-and-now. My approach is holistic, paying attention to thoughts, feelings, and embodied experience, as well as what unfolds between us in the therapeutic relationship. I work in an attachment and trauma-informed way, with attention to your nervous system. If relevant, I am also interested in how therapy can make use of your creative resources and ability to use your imagination as a healing tool. I practice in an anti-oppressive and systemic way, actively acknowledging the impact of wider social context. I work with people of all backgrounds including those who identify as neurodivergent and/or LGBTQIA+.
